Tom Harju has been enthusiastically selling VW's
for Betten Imports for over nine years and is one of four sales people
remaining from the old location. Customer Service, Product
Knowledge, and his love for Betten's products are a few of the many
reasons for his loyal customer base. VW's are about more than just
driving from one point to another, "..they are a great bang for the
buck, safe, have great resale value, and are a blast to drive.
How can you beat that?" He invites you to see him for the complete
sales package: product knowledge, an awesome test drive, and great purchase
experience!
At home, Tom is a father of three with a child in Middle School, High School
and College. He and his wife Patti have been married for over twenty
years and Tom keeps them safe in VW products. " We are a family of
VW enthusiasts, VW's have personality and many lovable characteristics. I
love them, and both Patti and the kids love them." In his spare
time, Tom is an audiophile, music and thrift store lover. With a busy
family there isn't a ton of spare time.
Tom is lucky enough to have attended VW training in Las Vegas, Phoenix, and New
Orleans. The Mark 5 GTI professional driving school in Vegas was a thrill
and he has been blessed to have attended the Touareg and Phaeton
launches. With the arrival of the Eos, CC, and the Clean TDIs, VW's are
getting attention that they deserve. "It is exciting to see the
changes and improvements VW is making!"
Tom personally invites you to stop out for a test drive and a great
experience. "I make sure that you know as much as you want to
know about your car" He will meet VW owners who don't know some of
the coolest features of their cars. " My customers are some of the
most knowledgeable VW owners around, and I'm proud of that"
I've earned my salt after a multi-year stint managing construction projects, giving shelter to more than 150 median income families. Having a deep history in relationship based sales I've brokered deals between parties as varied as family owned businesses, tier one suppliers to the Big Three and the occasional multinational corporation.
With years of experience selling automobiles from foreign and domestic makers I understand the process, making for a pleasant dealership experience. I'm afflicted with the car bug and really enjoy helping people find the ride of their dreams; or at least the one they can afford.
My idea of a great deal is a car you like from people you
respect at a price you can afford. What's yours? My cell is 616-717-3302.
I have been a Service Consultant since 1993. My general service philosophy is to try to treat people the same way I like to be treated. Many of my customers are now good friends. It's fun to watch the families of my customers growing up! The honesty and integrity of our service technicians has helped me understand the customers needs and to be able to explain things in a way that is easy to understand.
My daughter is getting married in September, so things are busy at home. I also have 3 "other kids" ... a white boxer, long hair miniature daschund and a dashund cairn terrier mix. I like to fish small lakes with my husband. I am an avid reader and I love cooking.
I have been in the car business since 1985. After years in sales, sales management, finance and corporate training I now do a little of everything in my current position.
With two grown step children and a son who has just graduated from High School I am on the verge of empty nesting except for the dog and the cats.
When I am not working I am usually outside - gardening, cycling, kayaking or camping. I also ski and snowshoe in the winter. I am involved with Spectrum Hospice for several hours each month.
Me and Jake on the river last fall.
